On September 14, 2012, I was invited as a guest to the first edition of ”Red Fruit Bar”. Locate in the hotel lobby, from 3:00pm-5:00pm, Red Fruit Bar is a collection of treats and desserts ranging from raspberry macaroon, carmelized apple, strawberry gazpacho, red fruit jam with scone, and topped with free flow of rose sparkling wine. A piano player entertained the guests as we enjoyed an afternoon of treats at Sofitel’s Le Bar.
I took my girlfriend, Vanessa Ferrer, to the grand opening and at first she was hesitant, as she is not a fan of desserts. This event made an impression on her, as Vanessa took one bite of the treat and it was all over. She tried several more sweets and couldn’t stop eating, and she was like a kid in a toy store. Well, make that a candy store.
At the opening, I was also able to chat with Paula Kanha, an event organizer in Cambodia. Paula is from the U.S., and now living in Phnom Penh, and making an impact in our native country. Both of us are social butterflies and always looking for new places to get away from our hectic schedules. We found the perfect place to relax, and it’s here at Le Bar at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.
The professionalism and exceptional customer service of the staff has elevated Sofitel into a league of its own in the hospitality and service industry. Sofitel is a luxury hotel chain managed by Accor, and opened its first hotel in Strasbourg in 1964. In 2005, Sofitel continued its expansion with Sofitel Asia Pacific which includes; China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji Island, French Polynesia, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
